Track Day with Chronohunter (pics)
I went down to join Chronohunter at the track as he and a bunch of the guys from the CSU engineering school played with suspension and aero setup on his car.
I was hoping to get some good chase video but unfortunately my brother corded the rear tires of the Caterham without telling me and then decided to take all the video equipment to the UK (including my lipstick track camera) for his vacation.
This means that I was only able to get some digital pics. Either way it was a good amount of fun and as always it is a blast to be taken around with Paul. The suspension is really well setup on his car and he really has mastered the Evo around this track
Cool Front Splitter
Strong Enough? -- Only weighs 2 pounds
Paul was about 1 second per lap faster than that Speed Challenge SRT-4
My car next to Paul's for comparison
Are these calipers discolored?
Check out the rear wing...

Since we are talking about Paul, did anybody notice that he is quoted in this month's Car & Driver by Tony Swan on page 148:
Keep in mind another old racing aphorism: "Don't brake until you see God." And the Paul Gerrard corollary: "When you see God, count to three and then brake."

The shiny part you are referring to is my brake ducting intake. Not as efficient as Paul's but does the job

seriously, those guys rock. We have be able to over the last year do so many track days and test so damn many things and settings on the EVO platform. My humble street EVO just plain rips around the track and does it lap after lap and gets quicker and quicker each time we go out. It far out-handles the old red shop car (which itself set several handling marks for not just EVOs but sedans of any type). It's all due to the hard work and research of the CSU Grad Students
All the stuff we have done has been tested one step at a time so we really know what works and what is a waste of money (a lot of products). Oh and we have more "stages" to go and cool products to come all via Vishnu who is pushing this grand experiment along
