Same here. Wasn't the last LV race in the parking lot next to a casino? I wonder what Tony is going to do with the road course if F1 leaves. I'd love to see a MotoGP or WSB round there.

I think it would be sh*t deal for them to move it. After all the money the speedway invested to build the new garages and track and the SNAFU they had last year I think they at least should give it a year or two to see if it recovers. I mean that whole thing wasn't the tracks fault and I'm pretty sure the track would have done whatever was necessary to make a race of it. I think it sucks IMS may end up paying for Michelins mistake.

Did that article just say they were going to try to have it on the strip? Yeah right, like that's going to happen. No matter what time of day the strip is always busy, and I doubt that the city will agree to block off the main entrances to the most popular places in our city, for an F1 race. It'd be pretty cool to see it happen, but I highly doubt it will.

No, actually, I'm not kidding you. Sure, they can close off the strip for a day depending on how much they pay the city, but all those casinos will lose revenue. You can say "they will shut it down, have the race, and all the people will go gamble afterwards." I agree with that. But I highly doubt they will hold a race on the strip, our roads being bad enough as is according to the city. Why else would they have to rip the roads apart and fix them every other week.

the casinos & oscar would love a high level sporting event like this... and the casinos wouldnt loose $$$, that is what frank sinatra dr. is for ... besides, we are talking about shutting off the strip in a certain area, not the whole strip.

trust me, I work with top level casino management everyday, they would eat up a marketing opportunity like this in a heartbeat... free international TV coverage for Las Vegas.. hello? You realize the amount of high-rollers that sort of event could draw to the casinos?

eitherway, great idea and I hope they bring the race here.. it would attract a very international crowd.. would make for a very fun weekend in Vegas.

Alright alright, you win. It would be fun and all, I'd love it actually. I guess I'm just very pessimistic. I don't like to get my hopes up, been let down too many times in the past.
