You have to get signed off to drive solo - it takes at least a few events to get signed off.

At BMW CCA events, everyone is classed according to their driving experience in general and experience at that track in particular. If you are truly very experienced, then you'd be in the advanced group. You'd have an instructor assigned to you for the weekend, but it's up to the two of you to decide if you're running solo or together.

For the record, everyone can learn from a good instructor...even excellent drivers. Our instructors are guys like Will Turner and others with years of race experience. Far from being "dead weight, I think they could probably still teach you a thing or two.

(For the record, yes, I am an instructor with BMW CCA, BMW CC, PCA, and a few other clubs myself.)

no offense to the owner of the car that it fell off.. but yikes.. gotta make sure everything on the car is secure, luckily the guy following you was calm about it but there have been many incidents where people swerve for stupid stuff like that and crash

No offense taken. The bolts that hold it on must have vibrated loose to cause it too fall off. Now I just run it open

The guy in the video is making too many corrections at turns and the tires squeal is not necessary in many turns. It takes practice and countless years of track time. Cool track though

Kyle is a really good driver. His tire squel is from under inflated tires and the tires being old. The reason corrections are being made is because in most of the turns you are going from asphalt to concrete and back again. Concrete and asphalt have different grip capabilities, therefore you see him makin adjustments in the middle of the turn.

Its called counter steering / opposite lock…lol .. jk going from asphalt to concrete is a pain. It makes the car very unsettled and over rotational if that’s a word. Come to Lime Rock and see

also brick hard RA-1's that sat outside on the car all winter doest make the car any more stable for that matter.
