Is rally cross hard on your car

I want to run in this rallycross next weekend

http://www.hometown.aol.com/rallynew...r8-20-2006.htm

I asked the organisers is it hard on your stock cars, and they said its not too bad. But if you look at the pics of the previuos events, it seems like there are kinda alot of rocks.

Does anyone rallycross their close to stock evo daily driver occasionally and if so, does it wreck the paint or underside of the car?

I have mediumsized mudflaps on the car.

Of course it is, any type of racing is abusive.

rally is particularly bad... if you are rallying where there is fine silt makes sure to change your motor oil as the silt gets all up in your motor.

always clean your intake after every rally event.

as usual change tranny and bleed brakes.

make sure to check for punctures.

check coolant.

all that is much worse when you rally.

Yeah, man, it's pretty bad. When I went with my Evo to my first one, which is where I got the magazine covershot for SportsCar, I was the only car that was fairly new and the only nice car whatsoever. The rest were all beaters and some WRXs that were from 2002 and nothing special. That's part of how I got the cover, because those other cars weren't too attractive, so none had been picked for the cover. I beat the shlt out of my Evo with rocks and dirt flying everywhere. Even with the windows closed, the entire interior of my car was coated in dust/dirt.

I can't believe you even asked that question. It's like autoX run in the dirt. Does a wild bear shid in the woods? lol

rally cross is no worse than driving through a parking lot

as long as you run over all of the parking stops at 70mph!

And the speed bumps (is that the same thing as parking stops?) are covered in dirt and gravel.

Hah, parking stops are even worse. They are the solid concrete blocks that define where your parking spot ends.

Much harder than auto-x or track on your car... at least on the suspension components, think about it, the un-even surface will put a beating on your shocks (you could easily damage it if it is a monotube design). Not only that but the rocks that go flying around will chip your paint and possibly damage your brake line (far off but possible) and get stuck between your brake pads, etc ... rim and tires will take a beating too, it's not un-common to see a tire come of the rim during rally-x ...

Rallycross is fun to watch others compete in (eg: WRC) or compete in with an old beater car or fun if you have a lot of money to cover the cost of replacement parts for the EVO...

Skilmatic: You forgot the part where the bear asks the rabbit, if he has a problem with shid sticking to his fur ...
