I was having concerns about the fuel as well. But if you're saying lower RPM's could be achieved, then wouldn't that also lower my boost, and reduce fuel consumption? I'm also not opposed to running a 2nd tank in the trunk if need be, but I would prefer to keep things light.

Glorified TSD rally if you ask me. I have a friend who did very well in a Porsche turbo first time out, no rally computer to help. IMO, try a real stage rally and you'll wonder why you bothered.
That said, the Evo should be a great car. The 130mph class might be a bit of stretch given the crappy aerodynamics of the car (I'd rather race a Porsche or Corvette for the big dog classes), but is more than capable.
