Luke broke, when we left Miller they were pulling the engine out.
Rankins drove the Boxer4Racing/Continental tires STI today, the tophat sheered off the rotor in the first session causing a spin and a DNF.. After I borrowed a spectator car and drove across to the other side of salt lake city to get rotors, i got him back out for the 2nd session without taking a penalty, and he finished 8th - never even seeing the other side of the course. not so much as a walk to the pit wall to watch runs.
it's a long week, and I am praying for rain.

Luke and Doug left Cobb at 3AM according to Trey. Great to see Cobb helping those guys out. Looks like the Viper is well sorted and going to be tough to catch. Also glad to see Jon K and the Boxer 4 guys get their car back up and going for the second round. Good luck everyone and see you tomorrow at Hallett.

Just got the call from Doug... they are heading to South Bend and calling it a day. Doug is too much of a perfectionist to take an untested pckage and push the limits on a track. So, he and Luke are heading home and passing the torch to the other Subarus and Supra to bring home the Import Win!
This completely saddens me, but it is truly the hard decision of a Professional to make. Mad Respect little Bro!

that doesn't make much sense to me. Do you know what the story is with the new motor? If it runs - why in the world would they retire? Sounds like they had problems with the new shortblock?

Doug and Luke showed up today at Pueblo.. I left and he was waiting to run, but popped up on the results as a DNF.. which means they took the green, but didn't finish.
I tried to call Luke but got no answer.

I saw four Evos the entire trip :-( two at a McDonalds somewhere in Wyoming, one at Peublo Motorsports park, and one at the Tire Rack today.
I did meet an Evo owner though, but he had driven his wife's Miata, so no fourth Evo.

Congrats Jon. You guys did well to climb back up to where you finished. Sorry I didn't make it to Mid Ohio to cheer you on, I was trailering a friends car to WWIII. Hopefully I'll see you at Indy in June.

We drove the miata because it has cruise control. Man I must be lazy. Oh wait, the evo has loads of camber (3 degrees) in the front right now because its track season, so I'm not lazy, I'm just saving my street tires. Yeah that's it. Tire conservation.
