Video Clip from Road Atlanta
Im racing one of the 2005 Subaru STI's from the National Championship team that now has a new owner. It is probably the best overall and best set up car in all of T2 (the ad for it says it has "over 60k in it" . You can see it gets crazy running in the same run group as the GT cars, seems like every time I was setting him up for the pass they would jump in there and cut me off, oh well, thats racing. Fortunately the NE Division rarely puts us in the same run group as the GT guys.

wow, awesome video!!!! thanks for posting up.
the cup cars passing in the turns looks scary. Don't they force you way off line?
Also right at the end I guess the Subaru shot across the sandy area, barely missing the bridge and then your car????
holy crap!
I'll stick to DE's, thank you...

Yes, they force you off line big time, you can see me turning in, then having to steer completely in the opposite direction to keep from hitting the GT car diving inside of me, not to mention I go from full throttle to tapping the brakes. It can be pretty frustrating. Yes thats a Celica, tube framed GT car that is in the 400whp and 2000 pound weight range, obviously not like any Celica you'd ever compete against in anything close to a stock Evo. We are the slow cars in our run group other than a few AS cars. GT-1, GT-2 GT-3, T1, AS and T2 cars run in our group at that track, at a track like Beaverun, T2 is the top class in the run group.

Yeah pretty sure that was a GT3 celica, they are quite competitive in that class.
Marty its funny how people can't fathom how fast some of these cars are without going to an event and seeing them run, I have seen old 240Z datsuns lapping similar times to the quickest tube frame ITE cars, its nuts...

I looked it up and that Celica is in GT3 and he beat every GT2 car in the race which is pretty crazy, and at a 1:34 lap, he also bested every T1 car as well. Evos are fast but when one of the really fast cars, especially a tube framed 600whp GT-1 car passes you, it reminds you real quick what fast really looks like.

Yea, unfortunately he chose to pass me on the outside of a turn as I was passing the Subi for the lead so he kinda screwed me up and I had to back off and try to pass on the next corner, that didnt work out either as the red car came flying in.

I had the track announcer on my car radio Last season in one race at Pocono, I didnt have a spotter and I blew through a few full course Yellows, I was able to let them repass and not get penalized for it. Ever since then, I try to tune the track announcer in. Its nice as they tell me when the green flag is dropped, how big of a lead I have or am behind and how many laps are left. It really works out pretty well, glad I didnt pull the radio
