I normally don't take out a lot of cones, but these courses, specifically the east, was not too forgiving. I hit cones on my fastest runs both days putting me at the bottom, else without the cones, somewhere around 8th place. The car was fast at the Pro and practice, but developed severe oversteer on the National courses (go figure?). I believe most were battling similar loose issues. There was plenty of time left on the course for sure.

The car will be up for-sale or parted out shortly.

Let's not forget that auto-x is still more about driver than car. I think that the STI and EVO are both competitive in STU. James and Ryan were clearly the class of the field in STU this year and they deserve all the credit.

Hey watch it. The pedestal that I have you on is shaking...

You are correct, it is all about the driver in AX.

Agree on the driver. I never put together a really good run and was baffled as to how my first runs each day were so quick relative to the field, but then I never improved. Those were the first and second days ever where my first run was fastest - odd.

I just spoke with Billy Brooks, who said the car was solid at the Pro and understeering excessively on one course and oversteering excessively on the other course. Does anybody have any opinions on that peculiar behavior?

Probably something to do with drastically changing the setup between the two days.

We were loose in transitions on Thursday so we made a small damper adjustment after first runs which corrected the problem. After walking the Friday course we decided to make another small adjustment before even running because of how transition-heavy the course was. The car was perfect.
