AMS is building a bigger 'small brake upgrade' and I hope to have the parts on the car in the not-too-distant future. I'm sure that when they are ready AMS will post up with info on pricing and availability. I'll be sure to snap pics of them for everyone once they're mounted up.

Update on the build: we're pulling body panels off the car tonight, and hope to get the bumpers, fenders, trunk & hood painted tomorrow or Friday, and are shooting to paint the doors and rest of the shell on Saturday. With any luck, I'll be out playing around on the dirt Sunday afternoon...though on stock rims/brakes/tires, not the gravel specific stuff.

I got them thru AMS, and not sure on the final price, as I only had to put a deposit down on them since they weren't built at the time I placed my order. They aren't cheap, with retail price somewhere north of $10,000.

Dave,
Ohlins? I'm glad to hear it. You win the lottery or something?

And to think all this started with some kid out of college, an Impreza and a crap JC Sports turbo kit...

Ahhh Marcus...didn't know you were on the boards! Yep, that's pretty accurate, though you forgot to include your encouragement of all this foolishness.

I wish I had won the lottery, alas I've sold/am selling off all the extra cars and going "all-in" on this Evo build. After learning my lessons on the GTX, I think although more expensive up front, doing things properly the first time will pay off when I don't have to do things a second time.

Its not quite that bad, but it certainly ain't a set of KYB AGXs. The only other suspension I seriously considered was the stuff available from RS&SP with the hydraulic bump-stops. When you figure in the sales tax (Phoenix Autosport is a dealer), the price for those was over $7k.

I'm gonna stick with my DMS... Has been my backbone for years and now that Ohlins has rared it's spendy (yet strangely beautiful) head, the $5 grand for DMS just doesn't seem so bad.

I envy you though, brother. Can't put better stuff under your car than Ohlins.

The Evo survived its first race weekend! I'll be posting up some more pictures now that the car is "finished," but thought I'd share the news. I will start another thread to detail the event, but any questions about the build or PPIHC in general I'll keep in this thread.

Great News!

Pics, stats, details!!!

Oregon Trail is this weekend and I have to sadly admit that my car was NOT ready, so I'm relegated to crewing for another team this weekend.

I envy you.

So... How was it? Alot like getting shot out of a cannon perpetually for 3 days, yeah?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Few more pics from the build up. First one shows the battery mount, and the rest show the car getting painted.

Shots of the car before its first runs. The AMS logos showed up in the mail today, so I hope to clean & wax the car this weekend and get those installed. Then I might hit up you guys for some suggestions on the graphics for the rest of the car.

SO sweet. Makes me want to cry. Mine seems so far away. Add to that, Oregon Trail is THIS weekend (and I'm not driving) and I just get that much more depressed.

Thanks for the pics man, Bright spot in my day

Best of luck!
