$965 and no screen readout? To me, I'd rather have Traqmate for basically the same price ($999 I think). With it you get all kinds of datalogging and you get a real-time lap timer display readout.

There's cheaper lap timer's out there. I'd be interested in something much cheaper. I don't feel like sporting $1k on a timer right now - although the info is sweet!

yeah they are in the midst of a evolution of the original product. basically just software with the gps, need a pocket pc or certain phone to hold data.
fwir it was round $5 c notes out the door if you bought their symbianeese phone.

I've seen group purchases for the DL1 for $750. The Traqmate looks good too but the reviews I've read say the DL1 is easier to use. At this point I would be interested in either. Would anyone be interested in either around $800?

But the DL1 doesn't come with a real-time lap timer does it?

Traqmate does for $1k. If you don't want the readout, you can get traqmate for $700.

Overall, $700-800 is outta my budget though. I'm interested and open to something cheaper.
I did a quick search and found:
$275 - Ultra Lap Timer

not at all. i've used both.

traqmate's interface is much better, imp. easier to use.

At first using the DL1, i liked the stuff, gave better info, but with traqmate's latest update, it does everything the dl1 does.

I like the fact that if you're just starting, you can get the traqmate, with the screen, that interfaces with the video unit, starts recording when you start recording for traqmate.

integration = awesome.
