Sigh. That thread looks like a bunch of not particularly well-thought-out ideas that sound good on paper, but they will ultimately fail when the changes cause more problems than they fix. The club I run with has tried drastically changing rules before and we've always ended up back at SCCA rules.

Forcing Stock-class cars to run street tires is a huge mistake, IMO. It might be fine for newbies and people who drive at 5/10ths consistently, but SS Z06s are NOT FUN on street tires. It's also not really enough of a reason to can ST classes...

The whole street tire versus race tire and the scca's view point has been on so many forums its hardly worth mentioning.

So to save a long story of excuses on why a car needs to race rubber to be in a 'stock' class the SCCA will never sanction that.

What a local region wants to do is up to them. Pretty sure tho that alot of those guys who worked very hard on 'the setup' are going to be pretty pissed on street tires.

Dont worry so much about it. The EVO owns BSP too

Can GTWorx get the PSS9s? My understanding is that the PSS10s will be only for applications where PSS9s aren't offered (newer cars).

It depends on alot of variables. Tire manufacturer, wheel width, suspension setup, weather conditions and temperature and the surface your racing on just for starters.

Post up some other variables that you can answer (ie. tire manuf., wheel width, suspension settings, etc...)

Richard, so how about the switch to Lincoln? Should be interesting I'd say from the surface change as well as the usable size. I'm itching to make it out there one of these years, just have to wait until the kids get a few years older. Maybe in 2010 I can make a ran at it and hopefully knock the STis off of the class pedestal or at least help in trying to ...
