New (different) Pads on Used Rotors?

For the track, I am planning to switch from Ferodo to Pagid (RS29) pads, keeping the existing rotors. Pagid states that the pads should only be used on old rotors if those rotors were run with Pagids. I have switched pad brands for street use with no trouble. The rotors are in very good shape, just not run with Pagids. Do I really need new rotors?

If you have experience with this, I'd really appreciate your comments!

thanks

The "cold abrasive" mode of the race pads should tear off any old deposits or "lube" that most pads claim to use. I do it all season on the same set of PF 2 piece's. Just bed them in, and if you still have street deposits, give it a few laps...they'll be gone

Thanks for the response. I was thinking along similar lines until an expereinced racer on our local BMW forum stated that the RS29 pads are ceramic, or more ceramic, and they won't clean off rotors that have been used with more traditional pads. Other than that, he raved about the pads which he uses on a viper.

Maybe I'll just try it and see what happens.

Like your car, same as mine, at least model and color-wise.
