You made those?! Not too damn bad!
I have been looking at Kirkeys as I know they can cut them to my wide frame. Too bad I don't have the same sort of fab skills or I would consider doing the same.

Sorry guys, I did not mean to imply that I made these. My fab skills are growing, but these are far outside my current capabilities. The welds are outstanding. And I would need a larger metal roller, which I do not have. Plus, I cannot stitch. I truly wish I could take credit for these, but it belongs to Ultra-Shield.
These are their Pro Road Race seats. I did a lot of research and these are the best rib and shoulder supporting seats for under $400. I too have a big ***, plus I am tall. You can get these up to 18” or for extra $$$ custom fit. Obviously I had not yet used them at the track, I think they will be incredibly supporting. I cannot wait.

Nice! I've had US seats in my autocross car for a year and love them! I use the Rally Sport model. Very similar to what's posted, but has smaller side torso supports.
I use them without a brace and they do have quite a bit of flex. If I were to use them for anything other than AX I would have the back braced to a roll bar. . .
Congrats!

WOW impressive! this actually is timely for something that I have been wondering about:
I have been having a hard time finding an affordable seat that really fits me well. I was reading in "Speed Secrets" about using 2-part foam to mold a seat to your body (put foam in seat shell, sit in it to shape, then it solidifies/sets up).
do you think that this might work well in a Kirkey or Ultrashield aluminum seat? You could then have it covered with fabric etc. and it might fit better than an off the shelf seat for very little money and some DIY effort. Just an idea i have been toying with.
