Interesting about the DTC-30s, I had not heard about them before. I found one site that suggests they work from 100-1,200-degrees Fahrenheit (http://www.urbanracer.com/articles/a...sp?a=3408&z=21), which suggests that they would be an modest step up from my old DS2500s. I do wonder though want makes a pad specific to a "dirt circle track", like the DTC-30s aim to be.

Darn. I guess I'll just have to pack a bottle of cleaning solution to use at the end of the HPDE day...

How bad is the DTC60 brake dust for the finish on your wheels? Are you using the DTC60s with street tires? Was there any particular reason you stopped using PFC01s and moved to the DTC60s?

Thanks!
I found the PFC01's difficult to modulate. It was from zero to hard braking. I attribute some of this to a very aggressive pad; but also a lot to the fact they were my first set of track-only pads.

So, on recommendation from Drew/Miles @ GTWorx I switched to the Hawk DTC line. As a bonus, they were also quite a bit cheaper as Hawk lowered their prices last year on some of their pads or something.

No; not using these with street tires. Unless it rains and I run my streets instead of my R-comps that is. When that happens; there's gunk! There's no need to run track-only pads with street tires at an HPDE level really.

Dust/Dirt overall is pretty relative to me. The car isn't going to come off the track as cleaned as it started. The rubber marble streaks from others tires are more of a PITA to clean imo. And I'll wash it later; so no biggie.

I'm running Carbotech XP12 front and rear. I love this pad as far as stopping goes but I don't think they last very long. I get maybe 8 hours of ***** out lapping/track time on them.

I'm leaning towards trying the ST43 next season.

Can anyone tell me how they will compare?

Besides, whats inexpensive for me may not be for you, or whats easy on rotors for me may not be for you. If you want a great track pad that i think is easy on rotors, long lasting, and inexpensive (something that i have ran and will run), i would recommend the Raybestos ST43 pads. Martin from Girodisc sells them. And if youre ready for more, i would recommend you couple those pads with his 2-piece rotors.
I'm sticking with the ST43's too - Very Happy with 'em!!

^ A quick search seems to indicate the last longer than average.... I'm just worried they won't bite like the XP12s.

Other than not lasting very long when punished lap after lap I have no complaints about the XP12.

I'm looking for a better track only pad for lapping days. I don't really car if it takes a lap or two to get up to temp I just want non-fading hard hitting brakes each and every lap for 30 minutes.

Depending on the type of track/braking zones...
F - RB 900 (new formula) / R - RB 900 (new formula)
F - Hawk DTC60 / R - Hawk DTC60

Of the below listed pads which is best for a full weight EVO running 255 R compounds with late brake Ninja Kick and bleed braking style?

1. ST43
2. DTC 60
3. DTC 70
4. XP12
5. PFC 01

Well, hopefully everybody is late braking, but I run 255 R's - will not be looking for anything other than the ST43 again.

Believe it or not, I leave them on the car. Re-bed them every time at the track prior to running.

DTC70s are the best choice out of all of those. They are the most consistent by far. The XP12 shouldn't be in that list nor should the DTC-60s. If you ever use an Autocross compound during road racing you may want to look at the PFC05s, but they tend to be a bit much for even R-Compounds.

Could someone give a good comparison between the DTC60/DTC70 and the ST43? I'm in the market for either.

Good thread. So what is the general consensus for running track or race pads in the front but not in the rear? I autox some now, but I plan to do much more in the near future and I'll be doing it on 255 r-comps with hopefully some roadracing in there as well. I've seen the ST43s come up often in this thread. Would I be better to run these? At all corners or could I get by with just up front?
