I wouldn't say "it's just 55 lbs" when they changed it to the aluminum roof versus the GSR..

Anyway, when I had a stock IX GSR, I beat more STis than they beat me (and won my class of 4 people a few times) in A stock. I am not a very good autoxer though, so Evo = good luck charm.

That may be true on a local level where the drivers make a bigger difference but not so when the cars are properly prepped by equal drivers (speaking from experience).

At a local level you can be competitive. You are on a Evo web site so opinions may be off. I'd go with the Evo. I do well at all the local autox in AS.

My point was that the CG was lowered. They didn't swap the steel for aluminum just for weight savings. If you are just looking at weight, you're an idiot. Was that easier to understand?

Thanks for elaborating my other point! I said I wasn't very good! I was also speaking from MY experience.

I agree depending on track design, weather conditions, tires and driver; Nationally AS could be taken by either the S2K, Solstice GXP, Vette, STi ....

Nice ....

Actually the overall CG was lowered by 3mm by going to the Al roof ... I really doubt I'm the idiot here

The only STi with a chance is driven by Roberts, and I think once they leave HPT and go somewhere with some grip, he'll be out of the running too. The boost buggies just have too many things that need to be fixed in stock trim.

I saw him at the DC Pro, and unless something is different with the car (or he had a bad event there), I think he'll be a little off the pace. Its entirely possible that he could pull off a couple of hero runs and win, but I don't think its likely. There's too many drivers who are just as good and in better cars.
