Best Street Tire - 140+ Treadwear

The new Advan Neova AD08 appears to be the next tire to top the list https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/se...ck-tested.html.

Cost wise I would still go with the Dunlop Direzza. Advans are so much money the new ones although great are probably twice the cost of the DIrezza. I guess if money isn't an option then Advan is the way to go.

While there are new tires coming out this year, the Dunlop Z1 has proven to be one of the fastest tires in both testing and US competition, regardless of price.

So, after running just the stock Advans this last summer, I was impressed with the feel of the tire. Its overall grip was not the best, but the feel was top notch.
The STU champion this year was running on Bridgestones. This leads to some thought that perhaps we need a tire that flexes a bit.
Nils on the other hand is of course successful with the Yokohama Advans. After hearing reviews this tire responds very well (perhaps it doesn't flex as much as the bridgestone.)
These are proven results on top notch competition cars with relatively high weight. And of course they were driven well and setup for their respective tire choice.
What are everyones thoughts pertaining to this? Leads us to believe that it doesn't matter which tire you choose, but it does tell us that testing is important, and that setup is based on tire choice.

Thats all speculation. One could say that, because the STU champ was in an STi which rear suspension gains no camber, he retained more grip from the softer carcass of the brigestone through a resulting larger contact patch. I can speculate with the best of em, lol
Overall, price and performance are dominated by the Dunlop, currently.
Thats not to say anyone can be fast on another tire.

IMO, the Yokohamas are the sleeper on this list. I've run them on my E46 BMW M3 at both Thunderhill and Sears Point and have been floored by the grip they offered. Pretty darn close to a full tread R-comp.

Shows how much I know. I'm not a cone-dodger, so don't attest to know what the street tire auto-x'ers consider the hot ticket. Guess I'll stick to talking about track tires.

Good point, but the second place car (Evo) was on Yokohama's (per results.) I understand the point of price, but that is not the question. With the new Advan and its suppossed ability to deal with heat better than than the old AD07, it seams to me that would be the tire to have.
