Congratulations guys!!!
It takes a lot of effort, $$$, and intestinal fortitude to RACE an Evo. I don't mean time trials, HPDE or time attacks, I mean wheel-to-wheel racing, which is what these guys in SCCA T2 are doing. Keep up the good work!

Most notable among the features of the new (2007) GXP was the mass infusion of horsepower. Pontiac upped the under-hood ante by 47 percent. The four-cylinder, 2.0-liter Ecotec engine was turbocharged to the tune of 260 horsepower (@5,300 rpm) and 260 lb. ft. of torque (@2,500 rpm).
Driveline: RWD
Tires: 245/45R18
Curb weight-manual, lbs. : 2976

Completing the top five in the No. 34 AMSPerformance/VIP/TRE Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, Marty Grand, of Manassas Park, Va., also earned the Sunoco Hard Charger Award for advancing six positions in the race.

Seriously good work to all the Evo drivers! I'm sure those things have to be slipping in competitiveness by now so those positions were won on pure driving talent.

There are a ton of stories to tell and there was some amazing racing! I am in the truck with CJ right now some where in Kentucky. Marty and Ryan are in the truck right behind us and it's been one hell of a week to say the least!
We had an absolute blast with no real mechanical issues in our way. We stayed on top over everything. Made sure the cars were ready to go and 100% for each practice and qual. We did discover a leaky caliper right before we were going to bed the night before the 8:15am race. Had to rebuild, install and bleed and then it was lights out.
The race was just amazing. The battle in front with Knowles and Ziggy was just amazing. Marty had some awesome passes and help back the 350Z trio that was on his *** the whole time. CJ made some great passes and dealt with a Lotus, M3 and other Z while battling with Bill Peters (cool guy). There was some nasty contact with two Zs that resulted in one going into the tire wall very badly in turn 8. He walked away, thank god and we all got to watch the in-car video while we were in impound and let's just say it's jaw dropping!
The race ended with a bit of controversy. Ziggy and Knowles had contact in the last lap. Knowles went into the wall at 1 and that's where the drama started. I'll let Marty or CJ really go into detail from there but we were in impound for 10.5 hours! At the end Ziegler was DQ'd but did pass tech.
End result was Marty Grand in 4th and CJ Moses in 8th.
It was a hell of a week and I really can't wait for next season. Hard work really pays off and these two guys are just awesome. We're very proud to be a part of this program.
Big thanks to AMS for coming through in a crunch when CJ popped a coupler with a day until race day! They got us the coupler next day and we were ready to go!
Jon, Huge thanks. I love not having to pull these trannies every month anymore! You should see your TRE stickers displayed really well in the television coverage!
Also got to meet and hang out with Mr. Robispec himself. Really cool dude and I really look forward see you out there again.

This guy was following an Evo, in the end he couldn't quite keep it on the track:

Do you guys have any in car video posted from the last race?
