Practice pics from Button Willow...Team Lee Myles/SpeedElement/GST Street class cars
We headed out to Button Willow thursday night for practice on friday morning. As usual it was a blast hanging out at the track and a pleasure working with Robert Fuller of RobiSpec. Got some much needed setup taken care of on our part and Sean(smack) was able to get acquainted with the track and lay down some awesome times.
Thanks for all the support from:
Robispec ///
GST Motorsports
Speed Element
Lee Myles transmissions
MILspec
And we will see you guys at the SuperLap battle

Is number 636 a "Street Class" car.....?
You're gonna want to take a look at our 2009 rules once they are up on our site, or over at www.TimeAttackForums.com
I see a couple of things on that car that will NOT be legal for 2009....

yes it is but we are testing for superlap in which we are 100% lagit. Haven't had a chance to look over the RTA rules yet but I assure you we will be well within the rules when the time comes.

Hey Nik,
read the draft rules.
can you add something into 2.3.3 about width of the front splitter? It almost always doesn't make sense to extend these beyond the width of the front bumper but right now there is nothing preventing someone from doubling up the splitter as a canard for example.

Are you saying the splitter should not be allowed to be wider than the bumper cover? Meaning it must taper in as it gets closer to the farthest edges of the bumper cover?
If so... I'm not so sure we want to do that....off the shelf splitters have some measurable "depth" to them the complete distance around the bumper....

That is correct... It is not only the leading edge that is limited to 5" depth on the splitter... the entire "circumference" of the splitter is limited to 5" depth....

Both cars are on stock block/head with bolt ons, cams and a red. Decent power but nothing compared to what will be at SuperLap.
Thanks for all the compliments on the pics guys, hopefully I can post up some better ones from superlap when we get back.
