Here is our Street AWD time attack Evo 9 project car. Still daily driven. Full interior/weight, a/c, stereo, registered, stock intake, cams, turbo, intercooler and ECU. Stickers and aero are swapped on/off before/after time attack events, track testing and car shows. Biggest go-fast mods are the JIC coilovers, 18x9.5 5Zigen FN01R-C wheels (NT05 tires are coming next), Works downpipe, GReddy exhaust, Tuning Technologies ECU flash, APR / M1 Fabrication aero and good pads.

We've taken a class win and a third place podium out of two events in '09. Not too much power (especially for the class) but a lot of setup time. Visit our build articles below:

All the project car updates can be found HERE

Let us know what you think of the 9/11s compared to the 8/10s. I'm currently running the 8/10s and have been in some much much stiffer setups recently. Curious what a little step up might do.

Just curious but is there a difference between a 17" and 18" wheel setup for the track besides the cost? Does the 18" "feel" better or more responsive than the 17" setup?

If you want to go really wide ..... there are more options in an 18" tire.

Some big brake kits do not fit with 17" rims.

If you are sticking with 255 or less then nothing wrong with a 17x9.

That's pretty much the straight poop!

18" offer more larger size options (like 265's for instance) but cost more and are heavier. BBK = 18" only for the most part.

Now if you're going to run street tires on the track, it might be worthwhile to run an 18" tire for a shorter (aka stiffer) sidewall option.

So that they don't get chipped by debris being kicked up from other cars. Sticky, wide tires pick up and fling a lot of crud.
