Do you do much track driving in rain? If so, I'd go with full-tread RA1s. They're good on a wet track and decent on a dry one. If you mainly drive on dry tracks or at least tracks with no standing water, you might want to consider getting the RA1s shaved. I ran shaved RA1s on my Miata race car this season and got around 35-40 heat cycles before they started to noticeably drop off in grip. But that's a 2300lb. I'd expect less life out of the RA1s on a heavier and faster Evo.

I've also driven on Nitto NT-01s and thought they were a good tire, too.

R888's will still be around. They are still the spec tire for World Challenge. SCCA and NASA will be on RA-1's next year.
