Team Schnitzels-n-Sushi have joined the league ... mwahaha. Any idea how the 'budget' thing works for the team? I was left with something like $7M and no good way to spend it. I don't suppose I get some kind of credit for coming in under budget?

Wow! Guys I've been following this F1 thread like I've followed every F1 thread in this forum every year and by far this is the most posts/busiest I have ever seen it. So many posts before the season has even started and I mean that in a good way.

Tire Longevity: Sauber Advantage
All the teams have been evaluating their own performance during the test sessions with obvious potential biases. But Bridgestone has been evaluating the tire wear of all the teams, presumably by recording the tire wear after each teams session. Their findings: "We have compared many teams' data and looking at the quick [four] teams – their degradation tendency is very, very similar,.... "Once they have the 150kg start weight, with both the medium and soft compound, then there is little difference – so we could expect a very close pace. However, Sauber is more consistent."
This edge in tire wear could be quite significant and may enable Sauber to run a softer tire. There has been so much talk about Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull and Brawn/Mercedes being the teams to watch but IMHO Sauber is definitely a dark horse...but I digress.

The Hulk looks incredibly quick in a sub-par car. He's come up through the red-bull drivers program and been on their payroll for quite a few years so my prediction is for him to with with red-bull next year as Webber segways into nothingness.

Tire ware is going to be more important in the first few races then almost any other factor (running out of fuel is up there also). Im curious to see how many teams need extra last minute stops

Alonzo uses the most violent turn-in on the grid, where runners such as Jens and Lewis have more of a smooth-sailing rep.
And if you need a quick splash of fuel to get you to the checkered flag then your boned.
Most likely Schumacher will have punted all 43 competitors cars off the tarmac so it will be more of a parade lap situation than anything. Nico will have "technical difficulties" just before the checkered flag and be unable to finish.

Interesting. Do you think they'd be better off with Hulkenberg instead of maybe Kimi? Guess it depends on how impressive, or maybe unimpressive, that Hulkenberg drives this year.
