PFC 06 pads for Evo X?

Anyone know if these are available, and if so, where I can find them?

I found the PFC 01 (and 97) on AMS's site, but I can't find the 06 compound anywhere.

They'll be the same for the X, IX and VIII in the front, so you don't have to limit your search to just X's.

Thanks goofygrin, you are right. I can't find the PFC 06 for any Evo available, though.

I may just have to go with the PFC 01. Close enough--just doesn't last as long as the new 06 compound, and has more rotor wear.

They completely solved all of the braking issues that I had on my M3--used to use various Hawk compounds.

And, out of the PFC pads, the 06 compound is my favorite for its durability, and it seems to perform just like the 01.

Other problem with those Raybestos pads is that there's only fitment for the front brakes. I'd like to have the same pads all around--I don't want to change brake bias by running different pad compounds.

You can do the 41 or 43 compound front and rear.

Let us know when you find them and what price you got them for.

Edit: ^^ ST43's all around I glazzed. While very easy to clean, and cheap, not the best.

Hawk DTC-70's (I know you don't like Hawk) have a pretty good rep, but they are going to eat your rotors... It's what the Vorshlag MR was using (as a street, autox and track pad!?!).

Remember that there's a huge difference in braking power required between your 2600# E36M3 and the 3500#+ XMR.

Edit, I guess the E36 was listed at 3200#... (according to Wiki)

Went with the PFC01 pads for both axles, ordered from AMS. Couldn't find the 06 anywhere.

Very happy with them. Never faded, always consistent and smooth braking performance. Driveable on the street as well.

Only problem is that they squeal to high heaven. I'm used to race pads squealing on other cars, but once they get hot, the squeal usually goes away. Not with these. Didn't affect braking performance at all, though.

Oh, and I now have Brownbos.

01's are Great pads, though I had the same complaints. I just ordered Raybestos ST-47's for the front and ST-45's for the rear today. I keep hearing nothing but good things so i'll let ya'll know this summer. As far as the PFC06's, I talked to one of the tech's at porterfield and PFC only makes the 06's for the rear's of our brembo's, and they don't have and I guess don't plan on making them for the fronts. PF can make them custom like they can for any car, however it's like 395 just for the front set. In talking around my IMSA and PCA buddies, the new Ray's are supposed to wipe those and the 07's off the floor, and cheaper it seems.

Also, not meaning to pry at AMS, i'm a customer of theirs too, but FYI if your a NASA or SCCA member, you get 10-20% off from porterfield on the major brands.

Do you have any shims in there? I recommend the Ti shims from TiSpeed. They really helped to cool the blackbos I have now.
