Dicey conditions at Sno*Drift - Friday, January 29, 2010
Drivers are reporting that Sno*Drift has some of the toughest conditions in recent memory.

Car 686 (Nunnemacher/Rossey) and Car 244 (Topping/Topping) were both reported off after Sno*Drift Stage 1.

But the treachery doesn't end there. Crews are also reporting plenty of deer in the woods near the stage roads.

How Do You Rally on the Ice? - Friday, January 29, 2010
We talk with several drivers on the iced over Friday morning practice stage at the Sno*Drift Rally, outside Atlanta, Michigan, the first event on the 2010 Rally America season. How do they get down this road of ice at speed?

Spectators are reporting that Travis Pastrana looks fastest out on the stages this afternoon. Travis is first on the road and has a little bit of a traction advantage right now. There's snow on the course under his tires, but he's sweeping it off so everybody else is contending with straight ice.

Teams are returning to Lewiston after the first four stages at Sno*Drift. Even the veteran teams say these are the scariest conditions they've ever seen.

These roads are suitable more for hockey players than rally cars. Hard to find a rhythm

The word on Car 377 Moyle/Barton is that they broke a driveshaft.
