Girodisc Super Ultralite Rotors Group Buy
Buschur now has a group buy set up for the ultralite Girodisc rotors I ran last year. Call his shop if you want to get in on it. I think he said they need 5 orders to make them.
Legal for SM and BSP. Not legal in STU or AS classes.
Here is Buschur's thread:

Jarrod, would it be a good idea to add to your review that the discs are very suitable for street use? I heard that the powers-that-be read that they wouldn't be good for street application, hence the proposal ban.

There is no "proposed ban". It's right there in the 2010 rules - it IS banned for STU. . .
14.6.E: STX and STU: Non-standard brake rotors may be used provided they
are of equal or larger dimensions (diameter and thickness) and made
of ferrous material (e.g. iron). Thickness includes the individual plates
of a vented rotor, as well as the overall dimension.
This has NOTING to do with streetability or safety (although that was their argument) and EVERYTHING to do with inter and intra-class politics. . .
These are perfectly streetable. Period. No question about that.

And which do you think is safer for stopping a race car - a racing spec $400 Ferrari rotor that is worn (or machined) down maybe just a little past what the MFR states - or a $20 OEM flat blade 10" rear rotor from any old 80's crapbox??
ALSO, with regards to cross drilling your rotors - I would LOVE to see a scientific test of a rotor lightened 20% via cross drilling vs. lightened 20% with this method. I will put $$$$$$$$ on the thin walled discs holding up longer with the cross drilled ones cracking and flying apart sooner.
