I've never driven a car with extreme downforce up those esses at VIR. What kind of speeds can you do? Is 145-150mph at corner entry common or was he really booking it?
Best I can do is 120-125mph in a C5Z06 at corner entry for the first left after the bridge. Have been thinking about more aero for my EVO for tracks like VIR, Road Atlanta, etc.

Track Guy - I don't know about VIR in specific.
But I do know there was a nice long but loose sweeper at Spring Mountain that we drove on with the S2000 with spoiler off and spoiler on. Otherwise nothing on the car changed. Went from a 90 mph sweeper to a 120 mph sweeper.

holy hell!!!! this video is such an eye opener and reality check to people who track their cars!!
I can vouch for how much of a difference no wing will make! I removed mine last year after watching it in the front straight of miller motorsports park. With such a long straight i had time to look around and realized how close the risers of my wing were mounted...
when I got back home i took the wing off to re-fit it. That same weekend I raced at blackhawk farms with out the wing and witnessed first hand how big of a difference it really makes. You can almost see how light the steering wheel gets right before it spins. He puts in a little input and the wheel reaction is huge if you ask me. Which was the same effect i had when the wing was absent...
Anywho, glad to see he is ok. Safety First everyone!

The S badly needed it. My point is that the factory wing on the Evo does wonders more than people think.

It was in fact the APR wing that failed, he posted pictures on nasioc. The mounts on the wing fractured. Most likely a fatigue failure. Those mounts are too thin and made from the wrong material. APR = major fail.
