Your best bet is to get one that is DOT and Snell rated to whatever is the current standard. That would be the most updated one you could get.

I think Snell/SA 2000 is the min requirement for RL and most all other clubs. However they only hold to that standard for 10 years so it's kinda redundant to get a 2000 today. 2005's can be had for under 300 all day for several comfortable makes:

SafeRacer, OG Racing, Wine Country Motorsports, HMS Motorsports, and dozens of others sell qualtiy helmets for cheap.

If your in a car, have a glass windshield, and are not drag racing - ALWAYS GET A FULL FACE HELMET.

Snell 2010 should be coming out soon, so if you could wait a few months, the 2005 helmets should go on sale!

Fulmer sells a nice helmet for $200 OTD... They do not sell over the net, so you'll you have to find a shop that sells them locally.

please dont pick a helmet because it looks good. 'looking good' wont cut it

u need something with 'mad ventilation yo!' i have tried many, and i always end up with my arai.

My suggestion, rent one or find a friend with a helmet.. until the SA 2010 come out

So basically once the 2010s come out, 2005 will no longer be acceptable? I guess I should wait then...

"HJC CL-16 BLACK FULL FACE HELMET SNELL 2010" you can get at any local motorcycle shop for $129. I already bought 1. Every sanctioning body has different standards for a helm. Do some research next time.
Thats M rate not SA rated, It may not be enough for some clubs.
