20' or 24' trailer?

I'm trying to buy a fully enclosed trailer. I have a large truck so I can store tires, generators, ect in my truck. I'm wondering how well an Evo will fit in a 20'x8.5' trailer. I also have an issue with my driveway. I can't take much more then 20' up my driveway without having to cut through the neighbors yard

Pics would be great! Thanks everyone

I will also be using this trailer for full-time storage. The car has no windows and I recently lost my garage

I don't know about your area, but 20' trailers are cheap around my area. I have been finding new trailers averaging around $4500 new.

good luck!

Have you ever loaded your car on a trailer at all before for reference?
I've got an 18' deck trailer, and I've got a good 3ft of room at the front of it. Figure a good 5' if that's a 20' trailer and start subtracting for cabinets, gear, etc.

20' is plenty. 24' is really huge imo...start looking 3/4 ton! If you've for the room to store it, the power to haul it - I've heard you never can have too big a trailer. I'd start looking 5th wheel though personally by then.

I live out in California on Monterey bay about 40 miles or so from Laguna Seca raceway.

I am looking at purchasing one of these next month.

I just can't beat the price. a '20 is a little large for me at the moment, but I figure I'll "grow" into it fairly easily.

A 20' will be more than enough. The car is about 16' tip to tale. I have an 18' open trailer with a 2' tool box mounted on it and my car goes RIGHT to the rear edge of the trailer. A 20' is more than enough especially if you'll store extras in the truck bed.

I'd personally get a 24 because you can then store more stuff in front of the car rather then having to put it beside or above the car. Plus we could all agree that we'd find a use for that extra space. The less that you have to put in the bed of the truck that can get ripped off or wet, the better.

I live in the mountains, near boone, nc. Problem is the road I live off of is so windy your not allowed to trailer anything larger then 16ft. My driveway is a 90 degree turn up hill on gravel and its a tight fit.

Ocilla Trailers, in Ocilla, GA have 8.5'x20' fully enclosed trailers for as low as $3,800 new and 24' trailers for under $4,500. I think I may go buy a new one unless I can find a good deal on a used one

yea they are pretty nice too. My neighbor just bought one of there 8.5' x 26' trailers with electric jack, motorcycle tie downs and anchors for $4,500.

They charge a good bit to deliver but I have to go to New Orleans this weekend for business, I'm picking up a truck and driving it back.. Why not get a trailer too? haha.

HOLY HE11 that's cheap!

You'll be hard pressed to find an 18' Aluminum open deck trailer for those prices! Most run $4500-$7k.

Id say 24... i have a 24 with built in work bench and I still need more space for extra stuff etc...

I would buy the ramp extesion too, because if you dont youll have to take off the bumper and bumpers take up some space

i would love the 24' but I can't drive through my neighbors yard every weekend and i can't/won't leave it in town anywhere. I'm banking on a 20' because it will just be used to hold the car and to trailer it. There will not be any cabinets, tools, ect.

I have a F550 Starhauler with much more space then I need. It has lockable wheel and tire carriers, generator, tools, and everything else already on it.

oh okay... make sure you buy alll the safety locks for a trailer... Ive seen people pull up, hitch up and steal trailers with expensive cars and race cars in it = BIG LOSS

Dont put on cheap locks either
