EVO owners GTGP Laguna Seca No Sound Restriciton Oct 22-24

On behalf of the Global Tuner Grand Prix and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, I would like to extend a open invitation to you to participate in the inaugural GTGP on Oct 22,24 2010.

The GTGP is a time trial format event and is accepting GTR Forum members with AutoX and Time Trial and track experience to compete in the 3 day pro format event at this legendary circuit.
The event is structured after the Tuner GP @ Hockenheim in Germany and Super Lap Battle at Suzuka Japan.

The GTGP is one of 4 pro weekends on Laguna Seca's main calendar including Moto GP- Historics -ALMS.

This event will be a spectator event and is expecting over 15,000 spectators, you will be competing against the best tuners, racers, amateurs and pro's in the world. Expect to see European, Import and Domestic brands all competing for the fastest lap at the track
.
This is a NO sound restriction event, if you have ever run at this track you know what it’s like to have all sorts of mufflers attached to the back of your car with a 92db sound limit.

If you have time trial experience or auto x experience you are eligible to participate at this event regardless of the car you drive.
3 Classes of cars (Street, Tuner, Unlimited) with 3 categories ( RWD, FWD, AWD).

You will have 5 hours of track time throughout the entire weekend and the GTGP will feature a ALMS style pre-grid /event celebration with all competitors and spectators out on the front straight giving you that Pro level experience.

The event is supported by the GTGP Challenge race where the fastest club racers from around the country and pro's from series such as ALMS, Grand Am, World Challenge and more will compete all with NO sound restrictions.
In addition the Pirelli Drivers Cup will be running there Porsche specific series and that will be supported by the Historic Motorsport Association stock car run group.

The paddock will include a trade show atmosphere (SEMA /PRI) exhibitor displays from teams and shops as well as tuners and manufactures such as Porsche Motorsport NA, Lotus, Spyker, AMG,RUF, GMG, Stoptech, Sparco, Brembo, Pirelli, BBS, Michelin and many more come down and check out the best performance and accessories for your car.

The Yamaha market place will also include vendor displays, as well as manufactures displays including a 350 + VIP car show. Car Corrals are also planned throughout the weekend.

A VIP red carpet Gala party is planned for Saturday and will be great opportunity to socialize with participants, press and celebs.

Perhaps the most exciting thing about the event is that Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will recognize and record the lap times from this weekend and the international press will also recognize these times. Just like the times that are recorded at Nurburgring in Germany these times will be a officiated and hold the same weight as the times recorded in Germany as Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca establishes itself as the "Nurburgring" of North America.

For more information on the event please visit www.globaltunergp.com

Please register early space is limited to the first 80 cars and the event is filling up quickly.

We currently have several EVO's registered including the Stoptech EVO 10, and Evasive Motorsports EVO.

Great news, I wish I could attend with my Super Touring Evo. I had the opportunity to drive Seca years ago and saw Mario Andretti's last Indy car race there. Great historic course to hold such a event.

I lived in Santa Cruz years ago and wish I could attend but a 6000 mile trip is not possible. I just raced at Watkins Glen were the ST-2 Evo qualified with a 2:03.8 which is a bit faster than the Grand Am GS times. Not bad for a Evo with less than 350whp!
