Evo X MR at Real Time Attack
Despite the bitter cold temperatures and relentless winds, the Demo event for Real Time Attack series was a huge success. It was by far the best event I've been to all year. Lots of fast cars, good people, and over all a great day at the track!
The South Side Performance sponsored Evo X MR preformed flawlessly all day, and showed zero transmission issues. Temps were in the 40-50's for most of the day, so my R-888's had a hard time heating up. To say the track surface was slick and ruff would be a huge understatement! I had to take horrible lines through in infield part cause there was a large depression in the apex of the turn that just about ripped my front splitter off. After that I had to take it wide, and half throttle for it not to scrape. Even with low temps, extremely slippery and ruff track, I was still able to run 1:14 seconds laps which put us as the fastest car of the day.
The first session of the day I was in the Red group (most experienced drivers) which comprised of several Evo 8,9's,10's, boosted S2K, and a couple track prepped cars. After I lapped the field, they moved me up another group with faster cars.....then after I lapped the field again, they finally decided to put me with the Porsche's and AMG's......which got passed/lapped in similar fashion.
I was hoping the guys from Akuma would've brought out there GT-R to play, but not so much?
I'd like to thank my sponsors, and a big shout out to John @ Import2race.com, Moses @ Fueldmag.com, and all those behind the scenes who made this event possible.

Quote from event organizers:
" Jeremy from south side performance(SSP) contacted us after hearing about Real Time Attack, and was excited to finally have and event like this. Due to the fact that our event was sold out, he was only able to bring one shop car, which was the Evo X MR making 540whp 406 tq. And it was a sight for soar eyes, this evo was not only aerodynamically beautiful, it performed like no other. We had to keep bumping him up in class till we just had to match him up with the Porsche tt, AMG Mercedes and a supercharged mustang cobra.... and still he owned the track. Jeremy will be bring more cars and fellow shops eager to race at Real Time Attack and will be a force to recon with next year. We expect SSP to break records on every track."

Ran FAT (Summit point), Couple times with the PCA, Pirelli Ultimate Track Car Challenge, Real Time Attack, Couple NASA Events at VIR, and that's about it for this summer. We're just going out this year to see how competitive and reliable the MR is at these power levels. I'd rather take my time testing out the car on different tracks, then just diving into a "race series" not having the car properly tested. At the end of the day, this is my car...and not a "shop car " so I don't want to go out blowing up motors and transmission is I don't have to. For 2011 I'll be racing the entire Real Time Attack Series, as well as various NASA TT events. I'll definitely be at the Pirelli Track Challenge again.....and this time I'll be driving.
IndyEvo took all the pictures, I was busy driving....so he get's credit for the but shots. The MR is a great DD, and with the proper transmission cooling can be allot of fun on the track.
