No cat will put you into BSP, but their are a slew of other mods that could put you in street mod.

But in reality, you will suck for a while and it doesn't matter what class you're in. You can run time only (TO).

Thanks for inspiration, na I'm just kidding, do you have a web site I could view the rules at? And maybe the dates of events

Misery Bay region of the SCCA hold some autocross in Erie, PA.

http://mbrscca.com/index.php

It also looks as if Western new york has a region also.

http://www.wny-scca.com/

Keep an eye on those two sites or just contact someone from the region and you will be shown the way!

Haha, sorry but its one of those things that takes time to get fast at

Put your ego aside and go have fun and faster times will follow.

You can definitely run events stock without any mods. My local sports car club runs 3-4 events per year at St. Lawrence Motorsports Park in Morristown, NY. http://sccv.org/cms/ It is a 3/4 mile go-cart track big enough to run cars on. Very laid back and I found it to be a good place to start to learn and a lot of fun. It is run in a time trial format like autox with no more than 2 cars on track at a time. There are several other clubs that run events there as well if you're interested.

Also the events I mentioned don't require a cat - just realized I mis-read your original post.
