Few questions for the still newb in Chicago.

1. Does anyone race at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet? This is the nearest road course to me as i live maybe 20 min away.

2. If you do race there, what clubs are you racing with? I'm trying to get in some HPDE events and only see a couple from NASA, SCCA, and the AMS one come June 5th witch i am signed up for.

3. The only other track that i know of in Chicago is the black hawk track which is like at the edge of Illinois and Wisconsin. Is this all that is out there?

Yes, to just about all.

Road America in Wisconsin... I just went to Gingerman a couple of weeks ago and it's roughly 2.5 hours away (I came from Wheeling, drove through the city and popped out on the other side in Gary). I will hopefully go to two Autobahn events this year and one Road America if my budget allows. I'll see you at Autobahn on the 5th

 

Midwestern Council will be on the North Track at Autobahn on June 11th running their High Speed Autocross event. Check them out at mcscc.org .

They will run the South track later on in the season and run quite a few events at Blackhawk Farms. I started out racing with them for quite a few years. Great group of people.

You will not get as much track time as an HPDE day, but you'll get a fair amount for the price.

 

NASA will be at Autobahn (the South course) next month - July 15-17th. The South course if fun; the North course is pretty short overall. If you want to race the entire course, it's going to have to be a weekday.

Gingerman is a few hours away in South Haven, MI. NASA is there next weekend.

i do race there with laps inc they always run full track there you dont need to be in nasa laps they got like 6 races each year just go to myautoevents.com

Yeah i raced with laps once this year and plan for another one. Next year i do plan to do there full schedule as they have great pricing and lots of seat time. Great group.
