Fixed seat base?

Hi,

I've done a bunch of searching and can't yet find a definite answer.

I'm looking for a seat base that will mount to my side mounted Bride VIOS III. Basically I just don't like the flex that I have with the sparco mounts and sliders..... Also the seats are a little high since I have sparco bases, sliders and then the bride side brackets.

Any info will help.

Thanks

You'll likely need to have one welded up. I built one for my Sparco, and it is really nice and solid. From my experience all the seat companies slider bases are high-boys.

I started with my original set of proto lowering brackets and welded them to a flat base for my seat, see below. A welder can make quick work of this action and I know others have used lowering brackets as the start of a similar fabricated base.

The shop who made mine had made 3 more sets using mine as jigs and probably still has them.

Boltz - have you tried removing the slider altogether and mounting back up? It's suprisingly better!

I've had 3-4 different brackets with 2 different Sparco seats. The Sparco mount, a custom mount and one from Wedge Engineering. I've played around a lot with sliders, drilling extra holes, remounting, measuring, moving left/right, etc. It's a pain to get it where you want it!

I've got this bastard low.....

Wow. Can't believe I haven't even thought of that. Haha. I'' have to try that. I'm only 5'8" so I'm not sure if I'll have the length if I just take out the sliders.

Jid2..... Like many other times, I thought of PM'ing you to make me some of your bases, but I know how busy you already are

xtnct, I read your whole thread already... Might have to call that shop up

Thanks Gents!
