Pure EvoIX - 7/10/2011 - Buttonwillow 13CW - Rd 5 XtremeSpeed Evo Competition
Just thought I would share.
Sparknotes overview.
95F ambient temps. 105F track temps. 275F oil temps on hot laps. Ran 4 sessions. Ran a 2:01.536 in session 4 enough for 1st place Modified Class. I also had the fastest time of the day out of everyone at the track. Win? Nearest guy was a 2:03.332 lap (non evo). Did i mention it was hot as hell. I was afraid that engine might kaboom. Glad it stayed together. Dissapointed I didnt beat my personal best time with a much better setup. Weather just sucked the life out my car/engine/turbo. Easily could have been 2s faster with much cooler weather. Engine didnt want to rev as freely especially after 110mph in 4th.
An Evo got damaged going off at Riverside (high speed right hand sweeper) and at Lost Hills . They both are okay and made it home. Their lip/splitter were destroyed. Lots of people's cars were overheating.
Session 1 - Loose setup
Pay attention around 5min mark. Massive lucky "save".

Thanks! Yes its just tape. I should really swap it for yellow tape. It is much easier to see on video because of more contrast to the black. Upon reviewing the videos, it helps me see steering angles/slip angles/corrections. Proves to be very useful when you spin or make a mistake and wonder why.

Nice save, I wouldn't attribute it to luck, you caught it pretty quick and did what you should. Good job.
I will say just the way that turn looked, the car appears super loose.

The stock seats will eventually have to go. Need to be more connected with the car. Yea, pretty surprised how fast i caught it. It was more of an unconscious reaction than a conscious decision to save it. Glad I did some karting before hitting the track day. Im sure it helped some.

Definitely the car was too loose and the tires seemed to be slippery as well going from traction to sliding sideways with no in between. Then in other turns the car seemed to have some terminal understeer, must be a challenge to drive that combo! Nice save, looked like fun out there.
