ExtremeDSM "Takin it to the EXTREME!!!" 2.3 FP BB BLACK
After many years of fun with my 2006 EVO IX RS, it is now time to take it to the extreme! Many of you have probably seen some pictures of my IX and some videos of it also. I love the car and everything about it. But, I have a big problem with speed and think my new build will be really interesting.
My focus of this build is making the car an all around car for every event out there. Auto X, road racing and drag racing. Then all the fun on the street that I can have. Looking for somewhere around 650hp in kill mode and 550hp at the track. Hoping to someday see a high 9 second pass out of it.
For the last month or so, I have been working with Devin from Boostin Performance in Addison IL. He is a great guy to work with. I ordered pretty much everything through him which he gave me great deals on everything and he built my lower end of my motor. I drove an EVO that he build a couple years ago lately and I was dumbfounded with the performance of the car which is why I put the building of the block in his hands. He will also be doing the tuning on the car.
I ended up buying a 2.0 block and pretty much all of the parts that "Most Wanted" had left over from his old motor. My plan is to remove my current motor in the car and not take one part off of it. I have pretty much everything to do that.
The block is a 2.0 block bored .020 over, decked, line honed and whatnot. 4g64 crank, manley turbo tuff rods and wiseco 1400HD pistons. Brand new front case, water pump and AMS race balance shaft kit. Arp's all the way around. Time for some torque out of the 2.3!!!
The head is a fully CNC'ed Cosworth head. I got a screaming deal on it from Chris at South Side Performance. Another great guy to deal with. Head has Kelford 272 cams, Gsc zero tick lifters, Kiggly HLA and brand new rocker arms.
The power plant of the build will be via a brand new FP ball bearing Black. Devin is also going to do his magic on the hot side of the turbo and port it for me.
Here is a parts list of what I have so far on top of what is listed above, almost have pretty much everything.
Fluidampr Crank Pulley
ID2000cc Injectors
Speed Density Kit
Aeromotive 13109
Buschur Double Pumper

MAP Rev3 Intake Manifold
Full Blown 70mm Throttle Body

Thanks guy!!! Spring needs to come a little sooner.
The rear sway bar is in the car already and have not really looked into that yet. I also read that the clutches in the rear diff were put in wrong from the factory. Have not really looked too much into that either.
I have a local friend of mine that is going to do all my intercooler piping, intake and a bunch of other stuff. I am also probably going to have him modify my oilpan to hold some more oil and keep the oil where it belongs. He has done all my custom work for many years and he does awesome work.
I am also going to do some weight reduction on the car. Nothing too major as I want to get in the car and have it look nice.
I am also tearing the tranny down and replacing everything to do with second gear as it will not go into gear when cold period. Don't know the deal there but if everything is brand new, should help out.
