Certified Roll Cage / Roll Bar Padding

Wonder if any of you guys are running the SFI/FIA certified roll bar padding?

Just installed a few sticks on my roll bar. It is very stiff & made for hard helmet contact into the bars

The days of running pool noodles / pipe insulators are over

Looks good Joe

Dont have a roll bar in my EVO yet but looks like you made the right choice in padding

How hard is that stuff anyway?

yes many of us runnig it. That is the only padding you should use anyway

Case of fire or accident the only padding will do the job right.

Heres a supplier link that notes some of the pad specs for those interested

http://www.rallylights.com/BSCI_Roll_Cage_Padding.aspx

I may end up redoing mine w/ the dual durometer material

Talked to an old racer friend - he's actually the competition director for the new NASA Central region. Anyways, he's been through a lot and told me a story of when he was in a car that caught on fire. He came out of it ok, with the only issue being some cheap padding that was used in the car that melted above him and dripped down and through it suit. He's still got some scarring from the basically melted plastic.

Pretty sure this was years and years ago, so not sure what was required back then. But learn from it; don't cheap out on the little things.
