Evo 9 Hill Climbing

Hello

My name is Daniel Onoriu and i am hill climbing driver in Romania. In 2009 I have won the national championship with my EVO 6 (1100 kg and 500 HP), but in 2012 I had lots of problem with the engine. At the beginning of the year 2012 I have replace the engine with a new one, more powerful, 700 HP on the dyno. 2.4 l. But the engine has broken in one of the stages and I had to replace it again during the championship (in only 3 weeks between the stages). It wasn t my lucky year so I have decided to change my car. For 2013 season i will change my old car (Evo 6) with Evo 9. Because of the many accidents suffered in this year, my body car has been damaged. This is one of the reasons that I have decided it is time for a new car. I have created this topic because I want to organized my information about the building of the new car and I will also need some advice from you, during this process.

I have attached a simulation of the new design. I can also put some pictures of the body of the car - now we work on the roll cage.

Welcome! Please feel free to post as many pics and tell us more about your cars. It's nice to hear from other hill addicts from around the world.

It looks like that wreck was a big one?

We had a problem with the new Sparco roll cage that we had recently bought. In their presentation the seller say that the roll cage has 38 kg, but in reallity it has 50 kg and I want to send it back. Is there anyone that can reccomend me a easy / lighter roll cage? The cage is now in sanding process and after that it will be taken at the service to put the roll cage on.

Daniel, welcome to the forum! Thank you for bringing us the exposure to your countries hill climb. The car and racing look awesome!

Best of luck with your new build and much success for 2013! I'd offer technical advice but I'm just a driver

Hi Daniel-evo9, does your car have to comply with any FIA homologation rules in Romania for hillclimbs?
