What kind of wheels are these? I'm assuming Yokohama/Advan RS, RZ or RC. Which model offset, etc?

You can see it pretty clearly starting at 2:10.

why do they insist on running those tires with so much power. why not run full slicks.

I think it's being built as a WTAC car and the rules don't allow slicks.

Interesting: He lightly tap the brakes every few seconds starting at 5:15. I'm assuming that's to keep them warm for the upcoming turn?

i notice that also, probably for pad kickback.

^ you think they fade the pads when they only do a few hot laps? sounds like the brakes are still cold and making noise. the braking power is limited to tire friction and they're not running full slicks anyways.

No, I also do this on longer straights to catch any knock back, AND to make sure the pedal hasn't gone limp (as in a fluid loss). You are right in that they don't put down enough laps to fade the brakes.
