Watkins Glen Thunder race

Finished 2cd in class 8th overall on Saturdays race. Car needs more sorting and testing next year to reach it's potential. Sunday was not my day. We chased brake problems and just made the grid to see a loss of power and DNF.

Thanks to Track Time Photos for the great pictures. I did get some video on my Race Technology system. Maybe I will learn how to copy the video so I can share it one of these days. Dave Fazzino #101 NASA Super Touring 2 Evolution 8

THe issue Sunday turned out to be a plastic vacume line to the BOV that had melted and flattened shut. I wondered why the car seemed to get slower as I drove harder and lapped times went in reverse! It probably softened and drew closer through the weekend. The car only had 12 lbs boost when I called it quit. The cars aero balance is great, no more pushing wide going down the hill after the busstop! Wish I didn't have to pump the brake pedal on every straight with my left foot. Next year I will do testing first before I enter a race. Hopefully Thompson road course will open and have unmuffled days so I can stay close to home.

What kind of lap times were you getting David? And what AOA are you using at that track?

My fastest lap 3 years ago was a 2:03.6 This weekend I struggled to brake out of the 2:05's. Track temps were only 80 degrees and I was on the same 3 year old tires.. I did not test on Friday. I was 6th fastest overall in the Saturday morning practice. I qualified 12 with a 2:05.3 Then it got harder to improve with the brake and boost issues. My Race Technology video/data system recorded some video. We returned to the factory ecu and the data is scrambled. Back when we first set it up with the Autronic we obtained a lot of good data and the 2 camera video.

Glad you were able to get one good day out of the car. Last time i saw it, you were going to give up on the car with all the issues, lol. Would love to see your video with data to compare corner speed with my car. I don't have much aero, 4" front splitter and arp gt200 rear wing.

What tires and size are you runing.
