What is the lightest you can get a track evo?

Hi guys,

I'm back on this forum after a few years MIA.
Doing some research on whats the lowest weight you can get a Evo 7 body down
but tubing it for Circuit racing.

Does anyone have pictures of a really light weight track Evo?

Thanks much!

I think he had a build thread, so your best bet is to look thru those. He also had a youtube video of the car ..... it looked liked a go cart!

You can look into the Magnus Motorsports front and rear tubular subframes to save a lot of weight.

a realistic build with full cage and safety equipment for road racing will put you around 2700-3000 lbs. the STM drag car is a drag car and wouldnt make a lap around a circuit (tiny brakes, tiny wheels, etc). and the italy evo is a huge budget car that your "average" person couldnt do. there are dozens of extremely well prepared evos that circuit race within the evom forum. my pikes peak car was pretty light at 2700lbs with full aero/wet/ no driver. and most of our customer cars come in around 3000lbs with driver. we can get them lighter but it starts costing quite a bit to keep losing weight.

Yep cut the crap out of the car and add a cage and you will be around 2700-3000.

There was an Evo from Australia that ran at PPIHC back in the 2005-2010 range. It was a tube frame car with composite body panels hung from it...but from 10' away it looked like it was a normal car. Weighed 2200 lbs with driver if I remember correctly.

My PPIHC Evo with a T45 FIA roll cage was just under 2800 lbs ready to race. Shooting to drop some more weight off it this year, but I've already done a fair bit of stuff.

There was a member on here from Australia who had a pretty crazy build going a couple years ago, but not sure I remember seeing it get finished.
