without this further turning into an autox vs track discussion, i will say this: there's no reason for anyone not to TRY autox once. many don't like the limited seat time vs time spent at the site - that's fine. But that's not an excuse to not try autox once, and definitely not an excuse to hoon on the street instead (not that that's what you're doing)

I like using AutoX to tune my driving skills rather than going to the kart track. Food for thought

"My car is too slow"
"I need better brakes"
"I need better tires"
"I need a new clutch"
"It's too expensive"

I do both. Everything helps. I'm not an autox fan at all, but it really does help. Plus, seat time is seat time.

P.S. I don't understand how someone would by a sports car and NOT want to get it on some type of course. Buying it to park with your buddies at the Local boba shop and look at it? WTF?!

I did Auto X couple of times, for me was flat out boring and the whole day felt flat. Too much time between runs etc. = no fun

Rally X was heck of a fun . $50 for entry fee, tons of runs not too much waiting etc.
The whole day was as much fun you can get for what it is. It is worth a day and the money

here is my comparison between the two different cone hunting race:

AutoX my DD with full trim not even empty trunk lol

Rally X , with my rally car:

I am a fan of driving on road courses and karting. I run time attack and time trial with NASA AZ and I kart with pro auto sports who is another local racing sanction. I'm not the biggest fan of auto-X, but I will agree that anything is better than sitting in a parking lot or doing "freeway pulls"

I think as above stated everything is better then high way pulls.

So I do respect auto crossers etc. the top level has amazing skills, and so on so forth.

If you bought an Evo just race it for Christ sake! I don't care what race is that.
I might be found as a bad choice the Evo for the racing you love, like drag... but I do respect the fact at least you are using the car.

I cant understand ANY not prestige sports car buyer who doesn't take his or her car on the track. Including STI -R32- Evo - Ford ST's etc

that is beyond me.

You're comparing autoXing in a stock, daily driver to RallyX in a prepped car?
Oh, come on now LOL

Other than seat time, I AX because my friends do and I'm competitive, which makes it even better (you should see us on indoor kart tracks!). I always try for FTD. Its fun whether I get it or not.
Do I think it's worth $50 for 3min of driving? Hell no. But a day of hanging with car buddies? Absolutely.
If I had to go alone, not knowing anyone out there? I wouldn't. But i'll be at Buttonwillow, alone, on the 20th. I don't mind that one bit LOL.

No I am comparing the two different event. I thought it's clear... But then if not, I clarify it for you.
Just happens to be the first video in my dd. Since at least that was on a race track, which many autocross racer think it's a fast track.

I dont know where you picked the car vs car comparison in my post there. Lol

Biggest but most reasonable excuse that I agree with is " I don't have a second car."

If you total your DD on the track and have no means to get to work, you are pretty much screwed.
