This year I'm trying a sleeved, bored (2.15) with 10.5/1 pistons on e85 with a mild cam and a gtx3071 turbo. Redline will be set a lil north of 9k rpm. Should be good for 75-78 mph on 315/30's

Just checked my numbers, if I go to 4.31:1 ratio with the 295/30/18s, Ill be just under 72mph at 8k. With stock gearing its just under 69mph at 8k.
Will be interesting to see if these 295s start rubbing under load, just a touch wider and 1/2" taller than 285s. I compensated by raising the car 1/4" so a total of 1/2" height change. Can lower it back down some if I don't have any issues.

For those of you with Evo X's what sort of race weights are you able to achieve under SM rules? Doing the math it seems like 3,250-3,300lbs might be close to the limit.
Rear seats out -40
Lighter rims/tires -20
Coil overs -20
Front seats swapped -40
Spare tire out -50
Small battery kit -35
Lighter rotors -15
No AC -20
Stereo out -25

I was at 3410# (with roll bar) last year. Still had the stereo, big battery, ac, airbags, SS exhaust and a few other things. Changed all that stuff. Still need the driveshaft and to gut the inside of the hood and find all of the other little things that can be done.

Look through the Evo 8/9 weight reduction threads and you can get an idea of what you can remove. I know weights wont be the same as an X, but should give you some motivation. I'm not sure you can do sound deadening like we can, we had the RS that had none.
Other things to look at, light seat (remove all factory seat belts), Lithium battery (2.5lbs for mine with less than 1lb in mounting), Replace steel parts with aluminum on engine (motor mounts, acc mounts, etc), Ultra light autox only brakes (girodisc), lighter wheels, remake non-critical but required parts ultra light (like a hood skin only)
Lots of weight left to lose, just gotta get creative and/or spend some money on lightweight things. Does get expensive if you cant make your own though.
Also I would start looking at what I can relocate to the rear. Ill take more weight overall if it mean less weight up front.

So I am just under 3,400lbs with half a tank of gas. About 3,380lbs according to a truck scale.
Rear seats and belts are out
Aluminum intake
Tomei Ti exhaust
Downpipe and hfc are a little lighter
Ohlins are much lighter
Spare tire and tools out
Front motor mount is a little lighter
Fog lights removed
Wheels and tires are a little lighter
Braille battery
The only ideas I have left that have a major impact would be removing stereo/AC and changing front seats and rotors. Just curious what the theoretical limit would be. The X is still a heavy car for SM, can't get anywhere close to the minimum required weight.

Is relocating the ACD pump allowed in SM? I put mine in the trunk cavity where the washer fluid reservoir was and installed a small aftermarket washer reservoir on the driver side cavity.
What about the tubular front and rear sub frames, allowed? I don't have the money for those but they advertise good weight savings.
