Not legal for the class we run. SM requires exit behind driver.

You sure about that? I thought it was behind driver or to the side.

Looks like you're right. I thought it was only behind driver. Still not a solution Id go for in this case. Min weight isn't hard to reach and a big muffler in the lightest corner of the car is a pretty good place to carry sound reduction.

Exhaust must exit behind the driver or exit to the side of the car.

Just did a local event with the 4" aluminum exhaust. We did not run official sound equipment, but the ear meter says it is just fine. It was not even close to the loudest car there (brz with craptastic exhaust). I had a codriver, and my personal judgement from outside the car is the freshly packed 4" muffler works better than the 5 year old 3" one I passed sound with before.

Decided to make some COP plates since my old one was in pretty rough shape. CNC laser cut aluminum, anodized black. I've got a few extras left over, if anybody is interested shoot me a message and I can get you pricing. I have them for mivec and non mivec valve covers.

The whole pipe is getting ceramic coated and there's about a 6-8" air gap to the tire. Honestly, there's probably more heat going into the tire from the brakes than this.

Yea not saying its going to get super hot just would love to compare out of interest to see if it does make a difference like you said.

Definately interested in the ceramic coating and how that works out. Want to close in my tunnel but worried about heat generated by the exhaust being an issue

I'd be curious myself, maybe one day I'll have an IR sensor setup for the tires but that's not anytime soon. My main reasoning for going out the bumper is to reduce weight of the exhaust and more importantly to allow enough space to make a proper wet sump oil pan that won't starve for oil on right handers like every existing pan does.

I would love to hear that when you're racing along a pit wall

Haha it's actually a tad disorientating the first time you're driving right next to a wall. I did a roval event at PPIR in 2019 and when you pull up next to the wall before entering the infield for T2 the sound reverberates between the wall and the car and comes right into the window.
