if you want to send me the file i'll laser/bend you one out and ship it to you ... as long as its cool to make one for myself

I need to talk with @Balrok some more about his car. His needs are a bit more stringent than others because of his ride height and diffuser. For people with better access I think this simple bracket will work fine.

google 'truck folding steps', maybe you can get some ideas

Got some time on my hands and nedeed some shop time to relax from the daily grind... Decided to fix some things that are bothering me about my dry sump project...
The idea was to run a twin stage scavenge pump from the alternator belt... like this..

I was never happy with the pulley, as it is large and hans on a 12mm pump shaft. I calculated the force on the shaft and its bearing (taking into account the belt tension and the angle of belt on the pulley) and it was ok-ish but I was not comfortable with the safety factor... After some consideration I decided to add a large bearing that will transfer the forces onto the pump body directly...

Started with a large hunk of 7075..

ended with this... a small sleeve that fits onto the pump, and carries a 45x75x10 mm ball bearing

Still need to machine the keyway and the groove for the belt, but looks promising now..

Quick release door hinges are done. Have a few more for sale if anyone is interested. Billet aluminum, anodized black, only fits front driver door.

What is the purpose of the quick release door hinges? It would make it easier to get seats in and out for sure, but is there another purpose?

Mainly for loading and unloading in enclosed trailers. Easier to just leave the door off when the car is in the trailer.

Picked this up at auction yesterday, lil thing scoots with bolt on's. Total hoot to drive. I can see now why people keep using these as daily's. Nice exhaust leak at the downpiple but once that's fixed I can't imagine how fast it'll then be. 2019 with 35k miles.

Those are fun cars.

Something about that size and shape that makes everything you do feel even faster than it really is.

I had two Fiesta ST's. Great little cars. Pick up a ton of power and torque with just a tune and intercooler upgrade. The engine is very stout too.

I miss them for sure. They also make for surprisingly good road trip cars too.
