We had huge news for use a week ago, Packwood got un-sold so our events are about to start back up. The 27th is our first weekend up there, two weeks later Tour then Pro is back on. Beyond excited for them to be happening!

Its not as contagious as they said it was, doesn't really transfer on hard surfaces and the mortality rate is much lower than they "thought" But keep those masks on or else...

That the mortality rate is <.5% in this country, and 1/3 of the people who have died were in nursing/long term care homes (IE not the people showing up to a track day or autocross event). In some states that number is 1/2 of the state's deaths because officials sent sick people back to these facilities from hospitals. If you apply some critical thinking- If this virus were actually dangerous, "essential" workers would have been dying by the 10's of thousands working in logistics, grocery stores, big box corporate stores, and hospitals that remained open (and extremely busy) through the shut downs. But that simply wasn't the case.
In simpler terms, this...
This isn't to say I think we can stop washing our hands and start coughing on each other, but this **** is out of hand.

sweet jesus. i think it must depend on where you live what kind of info you are getting. 100k/2m = 5%, not 0.5% - and you clearly you aren't in close contact with high risk people, aka like I am with my parents who have preexisting health conditions. we got to 100k deaths and 2m cases with this half *** delayed shutdown. easily would have been double if we didnt do anything at all.
90% of my coworkers are in NYC - very different from bumble**** rural areas. i'm not disagreeing that racing is very low risk - you're in a car, by yourself. less risky that golfing which they opened up all over the place. but just because you don't see it happening in your area is some fake news. TX, AZ, FL are spiking in new cases as well.
also the fact that essential workers aren't dying by the tens of thousands should tell you something else - not that the disease is/was overblown, but that wearing masks and gloves works.

we've kind of determined the clunk/pop is coming from the power steering rack - this part has been causing me issues for some time. are the autozone/generic steering racks fine? I assume not, but looks like mitsu doesn't make the part anymore

I just replaced three retainers because the POS compression tool I used chipped off the edges of 'em.
almost done with those.
What are OEM retainers made out of, anyway?

good idea. i'm not sure if it's the rack itself or maybe the brackets holding it down but i assume something is moving around/not clearanced right.
