Factory is about 103 as above, AutoX folk are use to yelling it out to Impound at national events. My car is 104 cause I have the front wheels pushed forward as far as possible limited by headlight clearance.

Cool. That may just work then...height would be the only issue lol. Found this trailer at auction that has a lift inside made for ....shorter cars. Only about 4 feet at full lift to the ceiling. But there's 84" to work with at that height under it, so it should just be a matter of finding another/lower locking position and still be able to walk/park something. Assuming it has any..

Well, big changes for my race series this year that I did not know about. Apparently, the Evo is classified as a super car now. New class for this year at that. So ya, I went up against a GT3RS and some sort of crazy Lambo over the weekend. Needless to say, there was no good outcome for me. No way I can compete with them unless I make some really big and expensive changes. So back to the drawing board to see what I am going to do from here....

That seems fairly unreasonable.

Agreed. Classing everyone fairly is a hard problem, but it should be obvious to everyone involved that the classing system is broken.

I'd strike up a conversation with the series director and see what can be done about it. Might help to bring the other people in the street car class into the discussion. Hopefully they're reasonable people who will make an exception for this season while they fix the rules for next year.

Personally, I wouldn't spend a huge amount of money chasing a broken ruleset that changes from year to year anyway.

The classes haven't changed in the past 5 years I have been racing. This is a first. From what I have heard from others, there is a lot more to the story. This all happened cause of one person. Not looking like it will get changed back. I really don't want to go with a large organization like scca but that may just have to happen.

In this case the evo that drove the change to supercar class is faster than the gt3rs on the type of course they typically setup. It seems like an extreme move to me but I can see why a muscle car group thinks it belongs in a supercar class.

Yes, Sean. Run SCCA. Join up w/the CalClub group. I ran w/them for years & worked Scrutineering for a while as well

Its more of the driver then the car. Whether he is in his Evo or the GT3, he is going to win. This is Tom Berry we are talking about.

I will look into it but the issue is I set my Evo up for my current series. So I would still have to massively change it to run in a scca class. The class rules I have now vs scca are very different.

Look into SCCA's XS-A class. They introduced it after wild popularity with CAM and imports can play in this class. It's not a trophy class but it sounds like what you're looking for.

Kevin is correct. Your car would be a good fit in XS-A or in the local California Street Tire (CST) class. We'll be out at auto club on March 7th.
