it's bypassed, but i think the shop just left it on there anyway.
just ordered a csf 4503, 16psi version of the cap. obviously that doesn't necessarily solve a leak, but i think i'd like to switch anyway. theoretically lowers boiling point but i have not had any issues with cooling.

thought it was, but readjusted it now per below. i can see if i can finagle a paper towel around that pipe and hose.
i've got the sheepey csf, which has a 1.4 bar/20psi cap. maybe it's too much pressure, and i should switch to oem-level cap?

How have they bypassed it? because the one above my blue circle in my photo is the throttlebody coolant feed. and the one circled im pretty sure is the coolant return? Hard to tell from a photo.
Just wondering if they might not have bypassed it properly and its leaking out of there and squirting around or out of your bypass. I cant remember where the TB return goes back into the coolant system but if they havnt blanked that side of either it could be leaking out of there.

Okay so that rules out the throttlebody and bypass.
Next thing thats easy to check are the 2 bolts circled in red installed?
Failing that i would ditch the factory hose clamps on those lines and chuck on some proper clamps.
Ontop of what the others are suggesting just trying to think of anywhere else it could be coming from.
Also, Whats that banjo fitting on the back of the block above the TC? ive never seen that before.

low pressure isn't really the goal of a coolant system, it's designed to hold the pressure that it's designed to hold.
those bolts are just the areas that the bypass is connected, at least the right side one (nearer to driver's side). i've readjusted the hose connected to that one and going to take a drive today to run an errand, so we'll see if that's had any impact. kinda doubt it, but you guys are at least giving me hope that it's not the head gasket.

ok - definitely not the hose that we readjusted. bone dry and i literally opened the engine to watch a drop trickle down the path on the transmission. i just cannot see further back from this area to see the source

Not a goal; a perk. I don't need higher pressures since I'm not trying to keep the water from boiling. I'm still on my OEM radiator with 140k miles on it.
