a friend of mine was gushing over the future of electric awd systems (motor at each wheel, no lsds) and how that is superior to let's say a traditional awd system - t-case/center diff, front and rear lsds. for ease of discussion let's say a mechanical lsds. comparing a 400hp (100hp/wheel motor) electric and 400hp ice awd - aren't mechanical cars capable of sending more than 100hp to a single wheel, depending on torque distribution? I think there are also stability improvements in having the wheels mechanically linked, vs. motors mimicking the speed differences per wheel, especially when it comes to braking. this is aside from things like charging speed, heat, reliability, instant torque, management, etc.
when it comes to EV's its really hard to ignore the things (and many others) you want to ignore. To be fair, even e85 has annoying disadvantages when you enjoy the benefits from time to time
A hybrid power & drivetrain would be cool like electric turbos and diffs

anything to consider while i've got the trans out? not planning to go to a 5, i'm actually pretty happy with how well the 6 speed held up over 30k with all sorts of abuse.
they don't make those fancy albins gears anymore do they?

check the for corrosion in the coolant plumbing. CV boots? oil seal? braided line for clutch? can be done later tho. also requires the monoloc IMO if anyone else was planning to do it
see if you could be interested in ayoustin's products around this area
otherwise just clean the area while the trans is out

Ooooweee just waiting on the proto trans mounts to come in and then we'll be making official announcements for all the mounts. If anyone is going to be at PRI next week these will be in the Evo on display at the Go Fast Bits booth!

They're not quite full thickness but definitely thicker than the bushings TS uses. Center gap is 20mm on the side mounts, 3mm on the front mount and 13mm on the large bush in the rear mount, the small bush of the rear mount has no gap. We could get custom bushes made to not have gaps but it'd hike price up a good amount and wouldn't really affect life or performance of the bushing. The bushings used in the side mounts are each 31mm thick for reference.
