**** the axle clips. the passenger's side is slightly out of round and fighting me the whole way trying to get back in. the driver's side was way tighter and it clicked back in. i'll probably have to grab a new clip from the dealer and get back at it tomorrow

I think he's talking about the circlip on the inner shaft that splines into the front diff. I would check the splines on the shaft as well. I had to replace a shaft the last time I had my engine out, the splines were a bit goobered up from going in and out previously and didn't want to go back in nicely.

yep, this ****ing thing

https://stmtuned.com/products/axle-c...=1455569567753

sorry that was a rage quit post last night after failing to get the axles back into the diff. not a happy situation. the driver's side, which still has a tight clip, clicked in, but the passenger's side with it's enlarged clip did not.

ordered new clips, will try again tomorrow night... then i can test out the new diff that i got for the 2019 season

If you're wailing on it that hard then definitely look the shaft over. I couldn't get one in with a 2lb hammer and found the circlip started folding over the splines and it was game over. The new shaft went in with 2 light hits from a 0.5lb hammer.

definately shouldnt need a hammer they should just click in by hand with a good solid push. Ive had a damaged circlip before and i tried hammering it and it made it worse. damaged the hub nut threads too eeeek.

Just get a new clip put on the shaft. its simple n cheap. or take the clip off urself n give it a birthday in a vice. u shud be able to push them in by hand but not pull them out by hand

yup. i think it's just slightly out of round and i was able to pull it off. makes me a little nervous about the splines, i'll take a look tonight to make sure i haven't damaged them forcing the ****er in. the clip on the driver's side, as you indicated, i cant even get a fingernail to pull it out if i tried. the passenger's side i can get out with relative ease.

i've also had those silver plates fall off the green part of the axle, i need to clean those up and get them on too
