The Evo 8 section shows 1000/1500: https://www.haltech.com/product-cate...evo-4-5-6-7-8/
But then again they have a separate Evo 8MR section that only shows the 2000/2500, which doesn't make much sense: https://www.haltech.com/product-cate...bishi/evo-8mr/ (EDIT: Reading the fine print, looks like it's only for the JDM Evo 8 MR)

I glanced through the Haltech guides for their 8 and 9 kits. The 2500 kit for the Evo 9 uses the extra outputs for the check engine light, A/C control, and EVAP purge control.
On the Evo 8 pinout, it looks like the Check Engine Light is marked as non-functional when using a 1500 (?), the A/C control uses a digital out to go to a relay, and EVAP is non-functional with a 1500.
This was a quick read so I'm surely missing something. If I was getting a Haltech setup for my IX I'd just get the 2500 kit so I could use the plug-and-play setup with full functionality.

And I guess I dont understand why thats even necessary because the difference between the 1500 and 2500 on their comparison page is only about the drivers for 4 vs 8cyl and single or dual knock sensors. As far as I/O goes, the 2500 only has 1 extra which isnt a make or break considering we dont actually have that many sensors compared to some cars.

It appears it can do everything the M150 can without all the licensing (cost) restrictions.

After reviewing the pinout, I'm actually confused as to why they didn't simply include a few more generic high-current outputs that weren't injector drivers. Seems like it would have made integration much easier for a lot of functions.
If you're okay with DIY modifications you could use the low-current digital outputs with a relay. I don't see any reason why the 1500 wouldn't work on a IX if you're willing to DIY the connections. Frankly I'd rather spend the extra money to use all of the plug-and-play gear and preconfigured software with their 2500 kit.

They use the extra ignition drivers as high current outputs for things like A/C control and the check engine light.

We use Emtron all the time (and I am a dealer for them). I consider them a step below Motec. They pretty much do everything the Motec does but you dont have to pay to unlock everything. They are trying to get me to ditch my AEM and go Emtron but for what I do, the AEM is just fine.
