2) i asked them what fluid they recommend for a situation where a manual trans fluid needing GL4 shares the fluid with a limited slip requiring GL5 - our situation in other words. He recommended the no slip fluid (https://www.redlineoil.com/75w90-ns-gl-5-gear-oil)

May give this a shot?
Ya 75w90NS or w140NS all day every day in our tranny. 90 if it's a daily/street car still and used in winter. 140 if it's mostly track Same stuff TRE insists on.

The NS is the no-slip version and fine for synchro transmissions. The fluids with slip adder from redline come with 5% by volume of their slip fluid but you can add more from there. Like my rear diff I ended up running closer to 7%.

For the front diff, Im running the 75w90ns but Marshal said he likes the MT90 on their ASP evo when they had the clutch front diffs. So I may give that a try this winter. My diffs are both very chatty still though. Better than when I started the season but in paddock you can hear them clunking and popping A LOT. Even riding passenger on course you can hear it. But you can also heavily feel the front engaging and disengaging too.

the cuscos right? my rear diff had violent clunking in the rear when i had my 1.5 type RS. the osgiken has been silent, and i've heard the ats diffs are silent as well.

good to know on the NS being fine for synchro transmissions. the 6 speed might be extra touchy, may run it with mt85 the first few go-arounds.

Yep, NS for transmissions, regular 75w90 or 140 for the rest that have limited slip's

Wanted to see what the experts in this thread thought about my ACD relocation plumbing to the reservoir. I have a molded 90° hose to the feed but I thought I could get away with a bend on the return hose without kinking. Turns out it is still kinking slightly (~30% kinked). Since it's the return I thought the pressure from the return line would still keep it open. Will this work ok, or should I try to find a 90° molded return hose too? (Surprisingly hard to find)

you've been using the NS in your trans too?

interesting... i presume that makes the front diff lockup stronger too

anyone running NS with the 6 speed trans? I imagine GL4 would be fine for the diff as well in any case

Where do you have the reservoir mounted?

Going to mount in that area behind driver's side tail light . Behind the access panel in the trunk trim. Similar location to where the washer fluid tank is on the passenger side.

So, I think my Walbro 450 from MAP may be fake. The bottom cap to the stock hangar is a non-starter and the pattern on the bottom of the pump looks different than any other Walbro 450 photo I’ve seen. I spent so much time scrutinizing the side of the pump for potential fakes but never focused on the bottom pattern...sigh. If anyone here can recognize if this is fake, please let me know.

keep posting in the wrong thread:

waiting on a new set of camber plates from cirodesign, and suspension should be good to go for the 2021 season - the plates I have seem fine, but are in kind of rough shape. Is it ok/good to hit the bearings with wd40 once in a while or no?

i finally pulled the aftermarket amplifiers out of the car from the previous owner, and got an antigravity 51R battery. for my setup, there's not much else I'm willing to do in terms of weight loss, it is what it is. maybe a custom titanium exhaust next year.

ats front & rear diff are going in at the end of the month - anyone interested in the OEM helical front (45k miles) or my OS Giken 1.5 rear diff that TRE customized (5k miles)?

WD40 on spherical bearings is a no no. It can introduce dirt between the ball and race. Keeping them clean is the best way to keep them alive.

Stainless ***** with a PTFE liner from a reputable bearing company will last longest.
